2022 Bluebird

The 2022 vintage Sauvignon Blanc is unique in that it was sourced from a single vineyard in the Russian River Valley, a favorite of ours that we have been working with for over 8 years.  The 2022 growing season could be characterized by one word: hot!  We picked this vineyard on 2 separate days, the first pick prior to our historical heat wave, and the 2nd pick a few days after it.  The result is layered fruit with nice complexity and a balance of flavors typically present in both cooler and warmer climate-styled Sauvignon Blanc.  This wine was fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks, and Malolactic fermentation was completely arrested.

The 2022 nose is melon, guava, cut grass, and cotton candy.  The palate pushes lemon-lime, pineapple, and notes of spice.  The finish creates layers of tart and tropical fruit, with acidity happily present to create length and ageability.
